Romanian startup XVision is putting its artificial intelligence (AI) solution to use in the fight against COVID-19. Their medical platform, which uses AI to analyse lung radiographs, has become an important part of mobile laboratories set up outside of hospitals in Bucharest and Timisoara. The goal of the software is to be used to identify patients with lung injuries that are related to COVID-19, thus allowing the medical professionals at the hospital to sort and prioritise patients with the disease. The mobile units are planned to be used throughout the duration of the pandemic.

XVision was founded in 2018 with the goal of making healthcare smarter through the use of AI in the Romanian radiological community. The company’s flagship product uses machine learning algorithms to assist radiologists in the analysis of digital X-rays, helping doctors to achieve a higher class of performance.
